BULGARIAN FOLK DANCE GROUP
Our folk dance group Jantra has been representing the beauty of Bulgarian culture for more than 30 years on Hungarian and international stages.
The ensemble has participated in artistic tours in more than 10 different countries all over the world, and organizes its own festival called Bulfest on a yearly basis.
Even nowadays, traditional dances play an important role in the everyday life of the Bulgarians living both in their homeland or abroad. Depending on the folklore region the style of the dances varies on a wide range and shows differences in rhythm, formation, costumes, movements or number of dancers.
Thirty years - ten countries
Our origins
The group was named after a river called Jantra, as a significant part of Bulgarians living in Hungary comes from its region, just like the majority of those young people who founded the group in 1996 to jointly safeguard Bulgarian traditions and dance culture.
